Even a pandemic can’t stop the essential services EPIC Fuels’ FBO partners provide. As a celebration and thank you for their efforts, we launched a PR campaign strategy called Reach for the Sky, We’ve Got the Ground. A key component: the 6,000-nautical-mile, 18-day Reach Tour with EPIC brand ambassador, world-class aerobatics pilot and racing champion Anthony Oshinuga.
The coast-to-coast tour included stops at 44 FBOs in 21 states. Oshinuga held small meet-and-greets and presented special COVID-related care packages to the FBOs. Their branded masks and sanitizers underscored FBO safety protocols that help make it safe for people to fly again. Oshinuga’s red-and-white, custom Pitts Special S-1S, single-seat biplane attracted attention in the sky, on the ground – and on social. Hashtags #ReachForTheSky and #GoEPICFuels drove conversations on Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and Instagram. Facebook Live events helped people feel part of the action.
Outreach efforts, organic and paid, of our PR campaign strategy helped generate more than 1.1 million impressions and attract 71,000 video views. Our landing page – EPICFuels.com/Reach – generated quadruple the industry average time on site and drove them to research fueling services. Media coverage included TV segments on ABC and Fox News, an Aviation Week interview with EPIC President Marius Ronge, and articles in General Aviation News, AC-U-KWIK, BlueSky Business Aviation News, Skies Magazine and MRO Business Today.
Feedback makes us think the campaign accomplished its goals to encourage, inspire and reassure. We’ve heard many “thank you’s” for the care packages, the chance to meet Oshinuga and the spotlight the tour brought to EPIC’s global network for FBO partners. As COVID loosens its grip on the world and business ramps back up, EPIC will be there. Ready to serve.
