Walt House looks around a restored Stearman 4D. The plane took nine years to restore and was done by volunteers like House. The plane was originally produced at Stearman Aviation in Wichita, one of 41 ordered in 1934, just in time to prevent the assembly line from closing at the fledgling plant that became Boeing Wichita.
