As the City of Andover continues to grow, its leadership recognized the need for a refreshed identity—one that reflected both its forward momentum and deep community roots. While Andover had evolved, its branding had remained unchanged, no longer capturing the energy and character of the city. To bridge this gap, Andover partnered with Greteman Group to create a modernized look that stayed true to its values.

Honoring the Past, Looking to the Future

Andover has long been known for its strong community, excellent schools, and welcoming spirit. It was time to refine the city’s brand to better represent its evolving identity while maintaining the essence of what makes Andover special.

We took a thoughtful approach, gathering insights from over 300 residents, business owners, and city officials to ensure the new brand reflected Andover’s core values. 

A Modern Look with Lasting Impact

Three concepts were presented, debated, and deliberated. The chosen idea, an evolution of the beloved city logo, builds on the equity and community admiration for the current brand. It elevates the mark in several ways, straightening up the “A” shape to appear stable, strong, and symmetrical. We simplified and reduced the number of rays, making it easier to reproduce and brightened the color palette to a contemporary vibe. A bold wordmark was created centering the ”O” under the Kansas sun.

The updated look didn’t erase the past—it built upon it, blending tradition with a fresh, modern aesthetic. Key updates included:

  • A redesigned logo that symbolizes growth, unity, and progress
  • A bold yet welcoming color palette that honors Andover’s dynamic community
  • A comprehensive brand standard including; font family, department delineations, misuse, a variety of file formats and collateral materials.
