ArtAID 18 Creative Goes Hollywood Glam
09.01.12 · Sonia Greteman
ArtAID 18 roars back from its year off like the MGM lion. The theme – Hollywood Lights – taps into the glam and greatness of Hollywood. This red-carpet night salutes the legendary movies and stars that continue to captivate our imaginations. From Tracy to Travolta. Hepburn to Hoffman. Garbo to Garland. The new venue, Century II, provides a new vibe and more room for tables and to view the juried art show, silent auction items and the extravaganza happening on stage. It also means more Wichitans can get good seats for the historically sold-out event.
More than $1.5 million has been raised for HIV/AIDS since the first ArtAID 19 years ago. The show, produced by longtime GG clients Planet Hair owners Tod Ernst and Graham Ross have helped it become one of the region’s most irreverent, eagerly anticipated evenings. As Bette Davis said, “Fasten your seatbelts, it’s going to be a bumpy night.”
