9 Portable Toilets…
The Girl Scouts of Kansas Heartland is putting a new spin this year on the classic holiday song “The Twelve Days of Christmas.”
The organization included nine portable toilets on its wish list for its 100th-anniversary celebration next April in Greensburg.
Odd? Probably, but Girl Scout officials say they’re really necessary.
“We just thought it would be something humorous that we would put in there,” says Cat Poland, the organization’s director of communications. “But it’s a legitimate need.”
She says a staffer was unsuccessful in getting a grant for the toilets, so the organization instead decided to include them on an event wish list.
Girl Scouts of Kansas is a featured nonprofit organization on a holiday wish list website created by the marketing agency Greteman Group.
Poland says all of the items on the Girl Scouts’ list — including the portable toilets — will be used during the group’s anniversary event April 27-29.
Poland just hopes the toilets don’t end up sitting in her office before the event.
Hutton Brand Update
Hutton Construction Corp. is rolling out a new look.
The company, which turns 20 in April, wanted to update its brand to reflect its philosophy of collaboration, says Hutton President Ben Hutton.
The new logo and redesigned website went live this week. Hutton Construction worked with Greteman Group on the rebranding.
Hutton says “hundreds” of company vehicles, trailers and signs will be converted to the new logo in the coming weeks.
“It’s quite an undertaking,” Hutton says, though he declined to share the cost.
The process is necessary, he says, as the company moves forward with its strategic plan, which includes doing more design/build work and being involved with projects from the beginning.
“We feel like it’s time to update our logo and brand,” Hutton says. “We are looking at where we are doing business and where we are headed.”
