Wichita Healthiest Employers
We like to break into a sweat at the office. Not from stress. From a refreshing lunch-hour workout. It’s just one of the many ways we stay happy and healthy at work. The Wichita Business Journal, Preferred Health Systems, and the Greater Wichita YMCA honored our efforts this year by naming us one of Wichita’s healthiest employers for 2011. The award focuses on company culture, leadership commitment, employee participation and other measures. We appreciate the recognition, and we know that our wellness programs make us winners every day. Special thanks to office manager Carol Farrow, our own wellness champion.

The Chamber represents businesses large and small, from multinationals to one-person firms, urban centers to rural expanses. Its recent agency review led to our being chosen as its marketing partner. Online surveys, interviews and workshops have helped us identify challenges and opportunities.

The Wave of the Future
There’s a new twist on the Planet Hair website. Yes, it’s gorgeous, as befits this progressive, edgy salon. But the real cool stuff is under the hood. The site employs an extremely user-friendly content management system that makes it a breeze for the good folks at Planet Hair to change and update, without fear of altering the site’s strong, cohesive look. New stylist? No problem – just add her photo and bio. Different product mix? Ditto. Updates are as easy as, say, editing a word document. They have complete control. So they can keep their website as fresh and up-to-date as their hair styles.

Derby Finds its Way
Derby, Kansas, has it goin’ on, and soon visitors will have bright, fresh wayfinding to guide them to the town’s many attractions. Looking for Rock River Rapids? Heading to High Park? The new signs will make getting there half the fun. Bold blues invoke the sky, earthy greens reflect the natural environment and an eye-catching icon pays homage to Derby’s many tree-lined avenues, while its overlapping elements symbolize community togetherness.
