Westar Energy, Royal Caribbean and Greteman Group are winners of this year’s Working Well award, given to companies that exemplify the best in health and wellness programs.

The winners were chosen by the Health & Wellness Coalition of Wichita; the awards will be presented at the fifth annual Working Well Conference on Aug. 25 at the Hyatt Regency.

The award winners were chosen based on criteria that included number of participating employees, variety of programs, and outcomes and evaluation of the programs.

Westar Energy and Royal Caribbean have an extensive range of programs and high participation rates, the coalition said. Royal Caribbean’s programs include lunch-and-learns, health fairs and walking paths. Westar’s include on-site screenings, healthier vending machine choices and the creation of a 10-minute video with health and wellness messages.

The Greteman Group, selected to receive the award for most innovative program, was honored for its communication and promotion of wellness options to employees.

“This year was the most competitive year yet,” said Mim Wilkey, chairwoman of the Health & Wellness Coalition. “These three companies went to the top because of the variety of programs, strong company leadership and their extensive evaluation processes.”
